The content of these lightening talk sessions should support the aim of career and professional development, and should focus on topics such as self-management, professional capabilities, and improving oneself personally and at work. These sessions will be repeated 6 times to allow attendees to switch to different topics that best pertain to their personal needs. Please see more on the Career and Professional Development Workshop below.

Session Topics:

Please consider the following topics and select the one which is the best fit for you. When you submit your proposal, please be sure to address the prompt under each topic.

Topic 1: ROI of Physician Leadership

How has investing in your development as a physician leader manifested in your day-to-day work? Furthermore, how has the application of the concepts you’ve learned through your leadership education brought value to your organization? These sessions should outline problems organization faced and how physician leaders solved them through use of their leadership skills, while demonstrating quantitative results to the organization.

Topic 2: Optimizing Payor Relationships

As healthcare delivery continues to evolve and transform, so do healthcare payment models. Essential to a physician leader’s development is the skillset to navigate the complex and ever-changing landscape of payors. Sessions on this topic should aim to provide insight and increase member understanding of how payors work, and how physician leaders can best communicate and partner with them to improve patient care and outcomes.

Topic 3: Optimizing Practice Management

What does a physician leader, or group of physician leaders, need to know to lead their own practice in today’s competitive healthcare market? Sessions on this topic should explore case studies of leading and operating practices effectively. Additionally, the benefits of interprofessional collaboration should be discussed.

 Topic 4: AI in Healthcare

The rapid advancement and implementation of emerging and developing AI technologies is shaking up industries everywhere, including healthcare. What do physician leaders need to know about AI to lead their organizations successfully, and ethically?

Topic 5: Benefits of Building Optimal Cultures

Creating a workplace culture that values wellness, diversity, equity, and trust is essential for achieving optimal outcomes for patients and providers. These sessions should explore wellness, DEI, and trust, with speakers sharing their experiences and data on the impact of these initiatives on patient outcomes and provider satisfaction.

Topic 6: Career & Professional Development Workshop Lightning Talks

Depending on the phase of one’s leadership career, professional development becomes a personal competitive advantage. This path focuses on self-management, professional capabilities, and improving yourself personally, and at work. Those early in their career may seek opportunities to advance, at mid-career they may look to manage and influence others, and as they have advanced to senior roles they may look to influence and create systemic change by leading organizations. This highly interactive and experiential workshop takes place on Sunday and allows attendees to choose a path that matches their current level of need in their career development. The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees at varying career levels actionable strategies they can employ to advance in their career. Objectives and outcomes of this session by level include:

· Advance yourself (Early Career/Novice): Support physicians in clearly articulating their skills set/value proposition through tools available to them (Resume, Interviews, Social).

· Impact others (Mid-Career/Intermediate): Raise visibility of their work and unique skill set and influence others.

· Impact and influence your organization at a systemic level (Senior Career level/Advanced): Create a plan to impact and influence systemic change.
