At this time, the CPCU Society intends to hold In2Risk 2023 in-person in October.  Sessions should be submitted for in-person presentation only; we are not accepting virtual presentations at this time.  While Washington, DC does not currently have any COVID mandates, the CPCU Society will monitor the situation and we intend to comply with any local health guidelines in place at the time of the conference.

Share your ideas, expertise and leadership with the insurance and risk management community by submitting a proposal for presentation at In2Risk.  We are looking for original and creative presentations that cover relevant topics and trends, inspire discussion and knowledge sharing, and are applicable to all levels of professionals.

The Institutes CPCU Society provides knowledge and leadership opportunities for a global community of risk and insurance professionals in order to advance the industry and benefit those they serve while adhering to the highest ethical standard.

In2Risk, to be held October 5-7, 2023 in Washington, DC is the Society’s annual industry-focused conference which provides the latest in professional development and fosters community within the industry.

  • Discussions that stimulate and promote audience engagement
  • Information applicable to all levels of professionals, early career through senior level

In addition, we look for presenters that have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Subject matter expertise (education, training, credentials)
  • Relevance of professional experience
  • Teaching and/or public speaking skills

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

Carefully read this initial information and fill in all items on the form that follows. Please note that a completed agreement form is required for each presenter before your submission will be considered. Please forward this link to all presenters listed on your proposal to complete.

To ensure a wide range of topics, the CPCU Society maintains full control over the final selection of topics and presenters. If your session is selected, the information you provide will be used in the CPCU Society's print and online materials, and the CPCU Society may modify your session title or description to comply with our print and online style guidelines.

Every presenter for your session must be identified in the session proposal form. A "presenter" is any person who will present any part of your session content to the audience and includes anyone who might otherwise be referred to as a speaker, a panelist, a moderator, or an actor. 

As the session proposer, you agree to perform the role of Session Coordinator if your proposal is selected. As Session Coordinator, you will be the person to whom the CPCU Society will communicate all information and questions about your session.

Session Formats

Please review the following session format options carefully and choose the format that best supports your learning outcomes.

Panel Discussion (60 minutes)

  • 8-12 sessions available
  • Features a discussion with one moderator and up to three panelists presenting perspectives around a specific topic.
  • Meeting rooms will be set up theater style (chairs only). A riser with head table and lectern will be provided at the front of the room. A laptop, screen and projector will be provided. 

Topic Spotlight (60 mins) 

  • 8-12 sessions available
  • A formal presentation usually given by one content expert on a specific topic. Meeting rooms will be set theater style (chairs only). A riser with head table and lectern will be provided at the front of the room. A laptop, screen and projector will be provided. 

Express Talk (10 mins)

  • 10-15 talks available
  • A TED-style talk given by one content leader that explores a single idea through story telling.  Audio Visual will be provided.  So that similarly-themed Express Talks can be combined into sessions, the talk should focus on one of the following themes:
    • Leadership
    • InsurTech
    • Expanding the Workforce

Roundtable Presentation (60 mins) 

  • 8-12 sessions available
  • A discussion-focused session that combines an informal presentation with attendee discussion and feedback. Presenters should plan to present for approximately 20 minutes and have prepared follow-up questions for small group discussions. 
  • Meeting rooms will be set with a small riser in the front of the room with a lectern and several round tables. Mics will be provided for sound amplification only, and presenters may bring handouts. No additional AV will be provided. 

Workshop (60 minutes) 

  • 8–12 sessions available
  • Session facilitated by one or two content leaders that helps participants develop skills through collaborative learning. Workshops should engage the audience in activities such as small group discussion, a case study or audience polls.  Meeting rooms will be set with a riser with lectern and head table with classroom seating for participants. A laptop, projector and screen will be provided. 

Idea Accelerator (60 mins) 

  • 8 sessions available
  • An informal session facilitated by one content leader around a specific topic. Facilitator will introduce a guiding question to stimulate discussion and open opportunities to learn from peers and share experiences. Limited to 30 attendees, meeting rooms will be set to facilitate discussion, no AV support will be provided.
