Submission Instructions

  • Click Make a Submission button.
  • Create a new account for submissions to this event by selecting login; then select Need to Create an Account? link.  This new account will not effect your other Envision accounts; it is only for submissions to this event.
  • Enter Author's Details: profile and contact information; biography; profile photo.
  • Author disclosures and acknowledgements.
  • Add the details of any other co-authors who will by physicaly present to present in-person with you, by selecting Add Co-Author.
  • Enter your Submission Details:
    • Submission Type: In the drop-down menu, select either Clinical Education Course, Panel/Symposia or Research Abstract.
      • Clinical education submissions incorporate practical information that low vision practitioners and educators need to succeed professionally. Clinical education submissions should include concrete examples of closing practice gaps in vision rehabilitation and should incorporate the principles of evidence-based practice. Presented by the author(s) in 1 hr. or 2 hrs. See outline example below.
      • Research Abstract submissions contain a clear statement of hypothesis, an explanation of methods, and a report of data that unequivocally test the hypothesis and a brief discussion of their implications. Include original results that will advance the field. Presented by the author(s) for 20 minutes in moderated, topical panels. See Research Abstract example below.
      • Panel submissions incorporate information that encourages discussion of professional concerns and views. These special panel events carry themes that are current topics in the profession’s lexicon and often include expert speakers that include both researchers and clinicians. Submitted by a moderator, and presented by the moderator and panelists in 1 hr. or 2 hrs. Must include confirmed co-presenters/panelists at time of submission.

Multiple submissions, in all categories of Clinical Education, Panel/Symposia and Research Abstracts, by a single author or multiple authors are accepted and encouraged

Author Notifications

Clinical Education and Research Abstract presentation selection notification will conclude by February 17, 2023. Notifications will be to Approve, Decline or Re-submit (with suggested edits). All correspondence, including notification of abstract acceptance and details for presentations, will be sent to the corresponding (submitting) author via email. The corresponding author shall be responsible for informing all contributing authors of any related correspondence. All presenting authors and co-authors must register for the conference in order to present. All presenters must present in-person at their scheduled time and day. No previously recorded video presentations.

Envision reserves the right to assign the day and time that accepted proposals will be scheduled. The lead presenter/moderator will receive a speaker agreement outlining these details and will be required to sign and return in a timely manner, along with all required program documents (i.e. PowerPoint presentations). All presenters and co-presenters will be required to register for the conference.

Clinical Education or Panel Course: All submissions are peer reviewed. If chosen for inclusion in the Envision Conference program, the designated lead presenter/author/moderator (does not apply to co-presenters or individual research abstract presentations) will receive the following support from Envision:

  • A $200 honorarium per hour of clinical education or panel presentation(s).
  • The lead presenter/moderator will sign a speaker agreement that specifies the details of this support, reimbursement, and remuneration.

Research Abstracts: All submissions are peer reviewed. If chosen for inclusion in the Envision Conference program all research abstract presentations will be organized into moderated research panel sessions at the discretion of the Envision conference committee.

  • Each abstract selected is presented by the author(s) for 20 minutes followed by a 3-5 minute discussion period. 
  • Please specify at the time of submission if a presentation is part of a pre-determined research panel.
  • All authors and co-authors presenting abstracts will be required to register for the conference at one of the regular conference registration rates.
