Proposal Requirements Guide

Requirements and recommendations for submitting a proposal for PTC/USER Global Summit 2025

Introduction

PTC/USER Global Summit 2025 is a conference that brings together partners, customers, administrators, and users of PTC software. Content ranges from Computer-Aided Design and Engineering Analysis, Manufacturing Planning and Instruction, and Data and Product Lifecycle Management, through Service Content Management and Delivery.

The PTC/USER Global Summit 2025 Call for Proposals

During our Call for Proposals, we seek submissions for a range of user stories and experience content that will be presented at the conference. For example, we are looking for you to tell us:

  • How you are advancing practice in your field.
  • Overcoming obstacles in implementations.
  • Connecting the digital thread across your organization, suppliers, and customers.
  • Driving greater sustainability in your projects and unlocking new technology to go beyond the expected.

What is the PTC/USER Global Summit 2025 Call for Proposals all about?

The PTC/USER Global Summit 2025 conference is primarily a User to User exchange of information. We are looking for presentations that are real experiences and plans for how you are implementing solutions, overcoming barriers from your company culture, and gaps in the solutions, and what you need out of solutions to be more useful and value-add to your business.

Particular interest is the transition to cloud-based SaaS solutions. Are you planning for it? Planning around it? Already there? There’s value in hearing your story.

Some sessions will focus on PTC development areas and current Technical Committee agenda items but whatever you have going on now or have recently implemented or planned is of great interest to our audience.

Our partners and sponsors will also be presenting solutions and tips to using and implementing their products. We encourage sponsors to avoid hard sell tactics and present real customer stories and practical implementation guidance.

Call for Proposals Submission Guidelines

  • Dates: You can submit your proposal between August 15 and October 15, 2024.
  • Languages: We are currently accepting submissions in English only.
  • Number of proposals: You may submit multiple proposals, using a new form for each.
  • Number of Presenters: You may have any number of presenters; however, only one complimentary pass will be issued for each session.
    • Please contact us if you would like to arrange something different, such as a panel discussion. We will discuss the request.

How to submit a proposal

Submit your proposal via the Call for Papers Submission Portal. When submitting a proposal, you will create an account on the system. It will be helpful if you use the same email for that account that you use to register for the event.

Requirements

If your proposal is accepted, you will be expected to meet the program’s requirements, including the timely submission of materials and other resources.

Technical requirements

  • PTC/USER Global Summit speakers must provide their own laptop for presenting on-site.
  • Have an HDMI compatible adaptor if your laptop does not support HDMI natively.
  • If playing video with audio, ensure your setup can broadcast sound through your video connection.
  • Submit materials on the deadlines requested.

Presentation rooms will be equipped with a projector, screen, and microphone system. Presenters must use these resources

Additional requirements

  • Respond to conference emails and communications.
  • Attend or view speaker training calls and webinars, if available.
  • Ensure your content aligns with your accepted presentation proposal.

Experience level

If your presentation is instructional, we ask that you designate the level of skill or experience your target audience should have to get the most from your content.

  • Beginner - Entry-level professionals
  • Intermediate - Mid-career and seasoned professionals
  • Advanced - Senior-level professionals with years of experience and advanced skills

Presentation formats

We are accepting proposals for the following presentation formats this year:

  • End User Presentation: An End-User Presentation is a presentation of a specific project from inception through completion, spotlighting the challenges you faced, the solutions you chose, lessons learned, and outcomes achieved.
  • Technical Committee Content: These sessions are PTC/USER Technical Committee discussion items open for public input.
  • Product Demo: Product Demos are opportunities for PTC employees, partners, sponsors, and other product experts to share updates, roadmaps, and insider views of product development efforts.
  • Panel: A Panel features a conversational format with three to five experts facilitated by a moderator / host, showcasing multiple viewpoints and insights on an industry topic. Please ensure panelists are diverse, offering points of view from different industries, different professional perspectives, or other different areas.
  • Roundtable: A Roundtable is a discussion engaging attendees. The discussion is a collaborative experience intended to help solve a challenge or answer a question shared by industry peers.

Primary speakers and co-presenters

Some speakers seek out co-presenters to help them conduct their presentation or to participate in a Panel. If your presentation is approved, you will be able to add the names of co-presenters or panelists online. The primary presenter is responsible for meeting PTC/USER Global Summit event requirements, including submitting all presentation materials and completing all presentation tasks on time. Only primary presenters receive the free conference pass and honorarium.

Speaker benefits

Speaking at PTC/USER helps you broadcast your expertise and build your reputation in the industry. There are more applications than sessions; therefore, being selected to present is a high honor. Eligible primary speakers also receive one complimentary pass to the conference.

Only primary speakers receive the complimentary conference pass and honorarium; these benefits are not available to co-speakers or panelists. Hotel and travel expenses will not be covered. Note that compensation may be forfeit if PTC/USER Global Summit requirements are not met, including the timely submission of presentation materials, recordings, and resources.

Resubmitting past proposals

If you have submitted a presentation proposal in previous years, we do not recommend submitting the exact same proposal. Consider proposing a follow-up presentation that takes the topic further. We encourage proposals that build on previous topics and focus on business outcomes

Proposal selection process

Proposals go through an extensive review process through our PTC/USER Technical Committee Chairs and our Board of Directors. We consider how well proposals align with the specified industry topics and themes, our PTC/USER audience, business outcomes and best practices, and diversity. We also consider how content will support year-round User Stories and Experience initiatives globally. We also balance new and experienced speakers to capture a range of voices.

Feedback may be gathered via surveys, forums, and other methods. Keep an eye on PTC/USER Newsletters and our social media for more details

Proposal status

Approved speakers will be notified by email in late November 2024.

Rights to PTC/USER presentation content

As a PTC/USER Global Summit speaker, you grant PTC/USER a perpetual, unlimited, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to print, reprint, distribute, use, display, and redistribute all or any portion of the session’s materials. These are licensed under Creative Commons
