These sessions should address career development topics especially relevant to rising college seniors. We encourage proposals from a wide spectrum of professional experiences and industries. Some topics to consider: landing your first job, research/field work, leadership development, graduate school and fellowships, how diversity/equity/inclusion and anti-racism appear in your professional life, internships and pre-professional opportunities, blending career and civic engagement, and other unique topics. You may opt to co-present with one other alumnus/a.
Alumni Wisdom Workshops
Format options: pre-recorded presentation, live presentation, hybrid with live Q&A

These sessions focus more deeply on areas of interest to the Cooke Scholar population such as transition into/out of college, identity and intersectionality, leadership development, personal finance, networking, entrepreneurship, professional experiences, graduate school, social justice, contributing to the world, and other unique topics. You may opt to co-present with up to four other alumni. The presentation should take the approach of “what I wish I had known,” providing inspiration, actionable tips, and suggested resources.
Volunteer Opportunities
Industry Connections: Be available during the Career Pathways Exchange (8/6/21 1:30-4:00pm) to connect one-on-one with scholars who want to learn more about your industry, career path, or experience as a Cooke Scholar. You can also offer specific guidance around interviews and resumes for your field.
Alumni Panelist: There are several sessions throughout the weekend that require panelists with different backgrounds and experiences.
Alumni Moderator/ Interviewer: Some sessions require a moderator to facilitate conversation.
Alumni TA: During sessions with their Educational Advisers, scholars will be divided into smaller virtual breakout groups. Alumni TAs will help facilitate those breakout groups with guidance from the Educational Advisers.
