We are delighted to launch our Call for Proposals for ECIS Inclusive Education Conference 2025 taking place in Vienna , Austria from  23 - 25 October 2025. This year's theme is Inclusion in Action. Our Think Tank members are excited to review your proposals!

Inclusion in Action: Empowering International Learners invites educators, learning support specialists, counsellors, administrators, and other student support practitioners to a dynamic three-day conference focused on fostering inclusive practices and well-being in our schools.

This year’s conference centers on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Well-being, providing participants with opportunities to explore innovative approaches, share best practices, and collaborate to create environments where all learners thrive. Sessions will delve into practical strategies for UDL implementation, promoting student well-being, and strengthening student support teams.

It takes a village to support every learner’s success—join us in fostering collaboration and building a strong community for inclusion.

We invite you to submit a proposal under one of the following tracks:

Explore innovative ways to implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to meet diverse student needs.

  • Practical strategies for lesson design and delivery using UDL principles.
  • Leveraging technology to enhance accessibility and engagement.
  • Differentiation and personalization within a UDL framework.
  • Collaborative teaching models and co-teaching in inclusive classrooms.

Focus on fostering emotional, social, and mental well-being in school communities.

  • Building a culture of well-being in classrooms and schools.
  • Supporting students with anxiety, trauma, or mental health challenges.
  • Integrating mindfulness, resilience, and self-regulation into learning environments.
  • Strengthening teacher well-being to support sustainable inclusion practices.
  • Approach to gathering well-being data and tips for identifying specific actions to support student wellbeing
  • Strategies to create inclusive learning environments that honor and support diverse identities, fostering a sense of belonging and self-worth for all students.

Develop effective collaboration among educators, counselors, and specialists.

  • Best practices for establishing and maintaining student support teams.
  • Creating, implementing, and reviewing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and referral processes.
  • Applying recommendations from psychoeducational assessments to classroom practices.
  • Effective communication with families and stakeholders in the support process.
  • Implementing and sustaining effective Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Utilizing and implementing external/local therapies and resources to support student success
  • Enhancing collaboration and communication among educators, counselors, and specialists to build cohesive and effective support teams for student success.

Create inclusive environments that celebrate diversity and equity.

  • Fostering belonging and inclusivity in international and multicultural schools.
  • Addressing implicit bias and promoting equity in school policies and practices.
  • Inclusion through extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and student voice.
  • Transitioning students seamlessly between grades and programs.
  • Embedding robust child safeguarding practices into school culture.
  • Supporting parents and building strong home-school partnerships
  • Developing skills and strategies for navigating difficult discussions to promote understanding, equity, and inclusion within the school community.

  • Embracing outdoor learning, arts, and play as tools for inclusion.
