The University System of Georgia’s Diversity & Inclusion Summit Planning Committee, invites proposals for the upcoming virtual USG Diversity & Inclusion Summit 2020 breakout sessions. The theme for this year’s Summit is Freedom of Expression & Inclusive Campuses: Building Capacity.
The Committee is looking for proposals that correlate with these tracks:
• Freedom of Expression in the Classroom
• Freedom of Expression in Co-Curricular Settings
• Inclusive Campuses in the Classroom
• Inclusive Campuses in Co-Curricular Settings
Types of Virtual Sessions:
Virtual Plenary (55 minutes)
Plenary are moderated sessions of experts presenting on a common theme, content, or methodological area, designed to give the audience different perspectives. They will be scheduled for 45 minutes and will include minimum of 3 presentations. 10 minutes for Questions and Answers. Plenary organizers may also choose to include several shorter oral presentations as long as they keep to 55 minutes in total.
Virtual Topical Workshop (30 minutes)
Topical Workshop by one or more authors, followed by Questions and Answers. Topical Workshop must provide an in-depth examination of the topic. Topical Workshops will be 30 minutes, including 5 minutes for Questions and Answers.
Virtual Poster (20 minutes)
Poster presentations aim to offer participants an opportunity to present their work in a visual format and offer good opportunities for interaction and discussion. Presenters should ensure that important information should be readable in an electronic format; the title is short and draws interest; the text is clear and to the point; graphics, color, and fonts are used effectively; and the layout is consistent and clean.
