VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 05/01/2025)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) and its publishing ministry The Christian Citizen were honored with a total of five DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards from the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) at its annual conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. The awards were presented April 24 during a banquet held on the first evening of the three-day gathering.
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 03/17/2025)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) has mobilized a One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) appeal to aid the Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church congregation and community in Southwest Oklahoma. On March 14, high winds downed a power pole, sparking flames that rapidly fanned into a roaring wildfire, destroying the primary church building.
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 02/20/2025)—In response to devastating floods that have inundated Kentucky, West Virginia, and other parts of the Ohio River Valley, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) has launched a One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) appeal to raise much-needed funds to aid victims of this natural disaster. To date, 14 lives have been lost, an untold number remain missing, and thousands have been displaced from their homes, according to officials.

Our Mission >Rocky, a United States military veteran, describes his ordeal of being deported to Mexico, where he knew no one and possessed nothing, following his release from prison. He eventually received assistance from the Unified U.S. Deported Veterans Resource Center in Tijuana (www.uusdepvets.org), where he currently resides. Years of attempting to return to the States have remained fruitless.
