Submission Guidelines

  • Submitters will need to create an account (using your name and an email address) to submit a proposal. This account is not linked to any other account (organization, previous proposal site, etc.). Once an account is created, you will be able to create, modify, submit and monitor the status of your proposal.
  • Submitters will be asked to provide the following:
    • Session title (should clearly identify topic)
      • Title should be engaging or intriguing to spark interest; however, avoid being overly clever or obscure.
      • Focus on the most important and relevant keywords or phrases related to the session's topic. Avoid unnecessary words that don't add value.
      • Avoid jargon and acronyms.
    • Session description (2 - 3 sentences clearly describing what will be presented)
    • Three potential measurable learning objectives
    • Theme/Area of focus
      • Options include: Program Management/Admin; Education Theory, Delivery, Format; Scientific Discipline; Student-Focused/Holistic or Misc/Other.
    • Additional considerations for acceptance (such as why the topic is of importance, unique perspective of presenter, etc.)
  • Educational sessions are offered for continuing education credit by ASCLS P.A.C.E.® and must be presented without commercial bias. Proposals should not be specific to any one device, procedure or testing methodology. Please refer to the P.A.C.E. Policy on Commercial Bias for additional info.

Review Process

All proposals will be reviewed by the CLEC Steering Committee (CLEC SC). The CLEC SC develops the educational program in part from the submitted proposals. Proposals are reviewed and evaluated with the following considerations:

  • Completeness of proposal
  • Well-formed session title, description and learning objectives
  • Value to overall program
  • Relevance of topic
  • Speaker diversity, including representation of the various types of educational programs
