Call for Session Proposals

We're now accepting session proposals from K-20 Education, Corporate Learning, Workforce Development, and Education Technology leaders.

How to Participate

We are looking for thoughtful and well-designed proposals that focus on practical strategies for improving learner engagement and retention, support digital teaching and learning innovation, and foster collaboration to build a better future for learners at all stages of their journey.

Your presentation or panel idea should align with at least one of our conference program's Best Practice Areas of Focus. You can select up to two focus areas for your topic from the list below when submitting your proposal.

  • Supporting Learner Mobility

1EdTech reserves the right to change your selection if we accept your session proposal.

Presenter Criteria

We're looking for innovators and those on the frontlines of implementing credentialing strategies and programs—from K-12 to higher education to the workforce—to lead 30-45 minute breakout sessions.

  • Confirmed presenters must register and pay the published registration fee by Friday, February 9, 2024.
    • Early-bird pricing is available through December 31, 2023.
    • All 1EdTech members are eligible for discounted registration rates.
  • Confirmed presenters from 1EdTech Higher Education Contributing Member institutions are eligible for a $100 discount on the early-bird or regular rate registration fee.
  • Proposals from edtech suppliers without an institutional partner (co-presenter) will not be considered. 

Proposal Requirements

  • Contact Information for all speakers (up to four total)
    • Required: full name, email, job title, organization, bio (1,000 characters max)
    • Optional: 300x300 profile image, Twitter and LinkedIn URLs
  • Areas of Focus (select up to two)
    • Capturing All Types of Skills and Achievements
    • Designing High-Value Trusted Credentials
    • Implementing Digital Credentials Standards
    • Institutional Change Management Challenges and Solutions
    • Partnering with Employers and Industry
    • Supporting Learner Mobility
  • Presentation Type
    • Presentation (30, 40, or 45 minutes)
    • Critical Conversations (30, 40, or 45 minutes)
    • Lightning Talk (10 minutes)
    • Workshops (2-4 hours)
  • Target Audiences (select all that apply)
    • Higher Education
    • K-12 Districts/States
    • Corporate/Workforce
    • Technology Suppliers
  • Audience Level (select the most applicable)
    • Foundational—For attendees who are new to digital credentials or the topic of your session. Foundational-level sessions help participants gain an understanding of new or less familiar topics.
    • Applied—For attendees with a robust understanding of digital credentials or your topic and who are ready to gain additional knowledge to be put to practical use.
    • Strategic—For future-looking attendees who need to set goals for using digital credentials and create strategies to meet those goals.
  • Session Title (75 characters max)
  • Session Description (1,500 characters max)
  • Top Three Things attendees will learn from your session (300 characters max)
  • Optional: upload supporting resources (Accepted file formats: Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, MOV, MP4)

The review team selects sessions based on how well they address our best practice areas of focus and audiences.

We're most interested in innovative and pragmatic programs to empower learners and better prepare them for learning and employment opportunities today and in the future.

We will not accept product pitches

Important Dates

  • The deadline for submitting proposals is Wednesday, August 16, 2023 (11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time).
  • You may edit or withdraw your proposal before the deadline.
  • Acceptance notifications will be sent by Friday, August 25, 2023.
  • Confirmed presenters must register and pay the published registration fee by Friday, February 9, 2024.
