Since its inception, CannMed has gained the reputation for being the one conference where more groundbreaking research and results are announced. Our CannMed 23 Innovation and Investment Summit will continue that tradition.

We invite researchers to submit abstracts that describe new and novel research related to one of CannMed's core focus Areas: Science, Medicine, Cultivation, and Safety.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Submitters should be aware that if selected they will have 20 minutes to present their abstract. This shorter presentation period is designed to encourage presenters to focus on their novel findings and allow more presenters to participate.
  • Abstracts must be submitted by, and if selected, presented by the first author or one of the co-authors.
  • Submissions need to support one of the four focus areas of the conference: Science, Medicine, Cultivation, or Safety.
  • Below is a short list of suggested topics from our Advisory Board. Please note that these topics are just suggestions. We welcome submissions on topics beyond this list.
    • Medical Effectiveness of Minor Cannabinoids, Terpenes, Flavonoids
    • Psilocybin and Psychedelic Mushrooms
    • Measuring and Preventing Plant Contamination (Pests, Pathogens, Viruses, Pesticides, Heavy Metals)
    • Delta-8 THC and Other Synthetic Cannabinoids
    • Nutrient Deficiency and Toxicity in Cannabis and Hemp Plants
    • Viruses and Pathogens Affecting Cannabis and Hemp Plants
    • Cannabis and Hemp Extraction Techniques
    • Advancements in Cannabis and Hemp Breeding
    • Tissue Culture
  • The abstract should be submitted in either Word or PDF format and include:
    • A sentence stating the objective of the study
    • A brief statement of the methods used, if pertinent
    • A summary of the results obtained
    • A statement of the conclusions. It is not satisfactory to say “the results will be discussed.”

Abstract Review Process

Abstracts will be graded by our Advisory Board Members on the following criteria

  • Relevance to the conference and the chosen Focus Area
  • Novelty of research and its significance to the field
  • Clarity with which the data is presented and conclusions are communicated
  • Ability to stimulate conversation and debate
