Deadline to submit is February 9, 2024 by 11:59 PM CST.
Abstract and Case Report Guidelines:
- Abstracts must be submitted online via the website only. Abstract submitted by email will NOT be accepted.
- All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. Authors who would like assistance with the English writing of their abstract, should contact us at POCCS@stjude.org and those part of the Global Critical Care Program at globalcriticalcare@stjude.org at least 2 weeks prior to the deadline.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Abstract submitters will be required to disclose any conflict of interests in the submission form.
- Instructions for preparation of presentations/posters will be made available closer to the date of the congress.
Guidelines for submission:
Before submitting you abstract or case report, please prepare the following information:
- Presenting author’s and co-authors’ contact details:
- Full first and family name(s)
- Degree
- Email address
- Affiliation details: department, institution/hospital, city, state (if relevant), Country
- Use a concise title (Max 25 words)
- Abstracts are limited to 2000 characters (approximately 300 words)
- Tables and graphics must be inserted in a .jpg or .pdf format. Please limit to one table or figure. However, tables and graphics are not required.
- Abstract content should be single spaced and should clearly contain:
- Background and purpose
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- Use only standard abbreviations and use generic names of drugs.
- Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers or other identifying information.
- Do not begin sentences with a number – type the number in full, for example, it should be ‘Three patients’ Instead of ‘3 patients'.
- Abstracts stating “data will be discussed in the presentation” will NOT be accepted.
- Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
Abstract Selection Process:
- All abstracts will be evaluated anonymously and scored by the appropriate Scientific Committee. The committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for poster presentation and journal publication.
